Pet insurance: is it worth the price of the premiums?
YES! But it really depends on which pet insurer you purchase your policy from. All of the cats, dogs and parrots at Crazy K Farm have health insurance policies. Through the years having pet insurance has saved us thousands of dollars and continues to provide us with peace of mind that we will be able to afford to give the best medical care to our animals in the event of injury or illness. We strongly recommend that you consider purchasing insurance policies for your pets but take the time to do your research before selecting a provider and policy that best suits your pet's needs. Carefully compare deductibles, per-incident limits, exclusions and continuing care options. A policy best suited for an older dog may not be the best for a young cat. Search the internet for customer ratings and examples of good or bad service that pet owners have received from various providers. For example, we have received prompt, excellent service from both VPI and ASPCA and having policies with them has been a blessing. Petplan, however, was terrible. After jumping through SIX MONTHS of hoops gathering the requested statements and all records we could find on an adopted dog, Petplan refused to pay a valid claim so we cancelled our policies with them.
